Are you listening?
I am not a magician. I am honestly no more than a skilled translator.
The way a mother knows all too intimately if her baby’s cry is one of hunger or a soiled diaper, I know the cries of the body.
Your body is always in communication with you. Hunger, fatigue, and stress we might be more accustomed to hearing. But your aches and pains are also telling a story and asking for help.
My job is to translate them and help you tune your hearing as well as give you the tools to respond appropriately.
I cannot heal you. Only your own body has the power to do that.
The patients who improve the fastest come to my office with the intention to take responsibility. They have a vigor to learn about the machine they live within and are anything but passive throughout the process.
If I were to ask you “What can you hear? What do you feel?”, what would you say? Have you ever allowed yourself to go deeper than “it hurts”?
It’s with all this information that I break down the pattern of feeling and hearing into a storyline, a conversation. I teach you the language. I teach you the tools.
Almost all of the rest - is you.
This will not be the last time your body has something to say, but I hope it’s the last time you wait so long to hear it.
